Keel-Laying Ceremony Held in Shimonoseki for New KEYS LNG Bunkering Vessel

On 17 January 2023, a keel-laying ceremony was held for an LNG bunkering vessel to be owned and operated by KEYS Bunkering West Japan Ltd.
The ceremony took place in Yamaguchi Prefecture at the Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works Enoura Plant of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI). The ceremony was attended by representatives of shipbuilder Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and KEYS shareholders Kyushu Electric Power Co., NYK Line, Itochu Enex Corporation, and Saibu Gas Company, all of whom prayed for the vessel's safe completion within the construction period.
After being launched, outfitted, and tested, the vessel will engage in LNG bunkering for LNG-fueled ships calling at ports in the Kyushu and Setouchi regions of Japan from spring 2024, in addition to internal transport for LNG customers.
Through this business, KEYS will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions with the goal of realizing a carbon-neutral society.
